Local Beaches

  • Broad Haven. The beach on your doorstep at St Brides Bay View. This is a beautiful wide open beach which was awarded a Seaside Award 2006 and has Blue Flag status. It has clean waters, a large expanse of sand, and shallow bathing - ideal for families. You can also hire kayaks from the shore front shop.

  • Little Haven. This is a picturesque little village that nestles in a small valley sloping down to the beach. The viilage itself is small but friendly with an excellent fish resturant, some gift shops and a pizzeria come post office. The beach itself is not very wide, but is sheltered by two high cliff faces offering wind free sun and water bathing. At high tide the beach is restricted to a shingle shore but is still a very safe and fun place to while the hours away. The Castle pub on the shore front is an excellent place to while away a few hours.

  • Dale. Dale is a sailors and Windsurers paradise. It is also a Blue Flag beach. It is sheltered from the open Atlantic by a headland at the entrance to the Milford Haven Waterway the mile wide bay gives a large expanse of flat shallow water at low tide with no strong tidal currents, ideal for learning basic skills and building up confidence in sheltered safety. A cafe near the slip way provides teas, coffees and snack lunches - which are just right after a few hours out on the water.

  • Marloes. This is a particularly stunning beach with golden sand and rugged shoreline, although there is a bit of a walk from the car park down to the beach itself.

  • Settlands. This is the small bay between Broad Haven and Little Haven and although there is a steep path to it at high tide, it is generally accessible at low tide. The walk from Broad haven to Little Haven on a summers afternoon at low tide takes you through the Settlands - which provides yet more golden sand, cliffs and caves.

  • Newgale. A little further up the coast is Newgale, another long sandy beach loved by surfers, body borders and Sand Sculpters alike.

  • Solva. Solva has a long narrow harbour which can be walked at low tide to reveal a lovely sandy enterance. At high tide, it is a picture book harbour which many boats bobbing on the waves. Solva also boasts many craft and gift shops, and some excellent resturants and pubs.
